About The Artists Greg & Theresa Preheim
“When I was a child my parents were the very first South
Dakotan's to own a television set. A Sioux City station advertised
an art contest for kids. The winners would receive tickets to a
show and free candy. My Mom sent in my drawing and I won first
prize for my age group.”
“By the time I was in high school I was always drawing in class
and getting into trouble for it. I use to haul bales for $4 a day, I
could jazz up a high school kids car for $5 in half the time.”
Sometime around 1962 I lettered a Loe Brother’s Pickup and put
the feed logo on it. I charged $25. They paid me five times the
wage for hauling bales. After that I knew I would never haul bales
again”.- Greg Preheim

“When I was around four years old I got into my Mother’s
makeup kit. I painted my face (almost perfect Mom tells me), and
then proceeded to paint the walls with flowers and butterflies”.
“By the time I was a teenager I was always drawing, beading,
crafting things and singing to my favorite songs on the radio. My
two favorite subjects in school were art and music. By my junior year or so
I came home from school and announced to my Mom I couldn’t
decide which one I liked the most. So I asked her should I join a
band or become a commercial artist? Needless to say I didn’t join
the band”.
